In the December 7 issue of the Colorado Real Estate Journal, Cappella’s president, Camille M. Burke, elaborated on the opportunities and challenges facing developers of senior housing in Colorado. “Despite reports that senior living development is coming close to the point of maximum saturation, we believe that there are still markets ripe for new development in Colorado,” stated Ms. Burke. She continued to explain that much of the current inventory is sub-par with traditional—and paternalistic—approaches to service and support. “Through innovative design and operating cultures, we can expand the current prospect pool and encourage people to move to senior living settings sooner.”
For Cappella Living Solutions, other opportunities include a mid-market assisted living offering with a more moderate price as well as “55 and better” residential apartment homes. These communities offer an affordable option with services provided through community partnership.
