Cappella Managed Communities are Getting Ready for the Vaccine

Health & Wellness  |  December 23, 2020

As we work with our pharmacy partners to set and conduct our COVID-19 vaccine clinics, our communities are busy reviewing materials, and getting signed consent forms for all residents and team members of in the community.

We want to encourage everyone in our community to be vaccinated for the safety and well-being of everyone who lives and works there. There will be a total of three clinics in each community. This ensures we can serve everyone who wants to receive a vaccination and stagger the vaccination schedule.

We want to encourage everyone in our community to be vaccinated for the safety and well-being of everyone who lives and works there. There will be a total of three clinics in each community. This ensures we can serve everyone who wants to receive a vaccination and stagger the vaccination schedule.

We encourage everyone to get the vaccine.

We must reach a “herd immunity” both within our senior living community and in the broader community we are located for life to return to normal eventually.

  • The vaccine will begin to provide protection about two weeks after the second vaccination.
  • If you are vaccinated, you are being a good neighbor and protecting others by getting the vaccine.
  • The more quickly we all are vaccinated, the faster we can begin to loosen restrictions and connect in person with each other again.
  • Until we reach a high percentage vaccination rate, we will all still need to continue wearing masks, socially distancing, and washing our hands.

Many are eager to get the vaccine and put an end to this pandemic. Safety is top priority for not only our communities but also for all of the scientists and health experts working on the vaccination effort. Like any vaccine, there may be minor side effects such as soreness, achiness, and potentially low-grade fever. A small number of people experience more series side effects, but the percentages are low, and typically related to history of anaphylactic allergic reactions. Please take the time to learn more.

The vaccine is free. Insurance may be charged for supplies and administration of the vaccine. If you do not have insurance, you will not be charged.

Recently, Cappella Living Solutions President and CEO Jill Vitale-Assume recently hosted a FB live event with two of our clinical experts, CLC Medical Director Dr. Erick Gomer MD, and VP of Clinical and Compliance, Pat McBride, RN, BSN, MSN. Watch the video to hear these experts sort COVID 19 Vaccine fact from fiction.

Great news but not out of the woods yet

News of the vaccines is very exciting and even though clinics are being scheduled with our pharmacy partner, we are not out of this pandemic yet. It is important to continue to follow public safety guidelines including physical distancing, frequent hand-washing, limiting group gatherings, restricting nonessential travel, and wearing a mask while we wait for everyone to get the COVID-19

We own and manage senior living communities alongside our parent company, Christian Living Communities.

Hear what Our Clients Have to Say

"When we moved to Holly Creek we thought about what is visible, such as interiors, apartment layout, dining areas, which are all very nice but after living here for a year we have discovered what is most important is the people that live here and employees, who are all so considerate and kind who are at the HEART of Holly Creek. They make Holly Creek a special place in which to live."
